How Maca Works?

Lipid extracts of macamide and macaene appear to correct erectile dysfunction and increase sexual activity according to experiments conducted on animals. Maca does not seems to majorly affect serum levels of reproductive hormones such as 17-hydroxyprogesterone, estradioln and testosterone in healthy men. Maca powder also consists of glucosinolates, which may have central nervous system stimulating effects and cancer-protecting properties.
