The oral preparations of Ruta graveolens (Rue), like rue powder, are used as uterine stimulant and abortifacient, for menstrual disorders and discomforts, fever, as antispasmodic, antifungal, hysteria, cramps, feverish, antibacterial, infectious diseases, diarrhea, hepatitis, headaches, pleurisy, weakness of the eyes and neuralgic afflictions. In Manufacturing Practices - Rue oil is used as a fragrance in cosmetics and soaps products.

What Should Be the Dose/Administration of Rue?

ORAL Usually people orally use 500 mg of crushed rue. However, physician suggest dosage of 1 grams daily. Rue is also used as a tea, mix one teaspoon of rue powder one cup of boiling water to make this tea. Take one cup of this tea daily. TOPICAL There is no topical dosage of rue.
