In Manufacturing and Food Preparations - Extract of tansy are utilized as a flavoring agent in various beverages and food items, in perfume, and a source of green dye.

Possibly Unsafe - Tansy is thought to be unsafe when applied to the skin, as it may result in severe contact dermatitis. How Tansy Works?

The name tansy is derived from the Greek word called athanasia which means “immortality”. Tansy was thought to impart immortality and it was castoff for embalming. So don’t mix tansy ragwort (Senecio species) with other plants generically referred to as tansy.
