What Should Be the Dose/Administration of Witch Hazel?

ORAL There is no typical dosage of witch hazel; however two grams of dried leaves or a tea should be used thrice every day. To make such tea, steep two grams in 150 mL of warm water for continuously 5-10 minutes and then strain the liquid. Liquid Extract of Hamamelis (with ration of 1:1 in 45% concentrated alcohol), such liquid should be consumed 2-4 mL thrice every day. TOPICAL For irrigations and compresses, simmer 5 to 10 grams of bark and leaves per 250 mL of water. As a poultice, utilize witch hazel water (Hamamelis water) diluted or undiluted in a ratio 1:3 with water. Take 20-30% of semi-solid preparations. Semi solid, Extracts and liquid preparations consistent to 5-10% bark and leaves. RECTAL Suppositories, consistent to 0.1 to 1 grams bark and leaves topically used every day 1-3 time. Hamamelis water and Anorectal disorders applied externally up to 6 times daily or after each bowel movement.
