Artichoke (Cynara scolymus)Family: ASTERACEAE Comments: Alcachofra is the Brazilian name for the globe artichoke. A member of the milk thistle family that produces a large violet-green flower head the flower petals and fleshy flower bottom are eaten as vegetables.
