The oral preparations of (Chanca piedra), like chanca piedra powder, or chanca piedra tea are used for a number of purposes like for kidney stones, UTIs, to stimulate appetite, gonorrhea, syphilis, for malaria diseases, as an antiflatulent, blood purifier and also as a liver tonic. What Should Be the Dose/Administration of Chanca Piedra?

ORAL - Generally chanca piedra is utilized in form of tablet or capsules in a dosage of 1-2 gams twice daily. Many individuals also use 1 to 2 grams of powdered herb in tablets or capsules twice daily. Chanca piedra is also taken with ratio of 4:1 tincture in a dosage of 1-3 mL two times every day. For chanca piedra tea use 1 teaspoon of chanca piedra powder per cup of boiling hot water let steep for 10 minutes.

According to some studies conducted Phyllanthus niruri is consider to be locally grown in the West Indies. Another report from India shows that Phyllanthus niruri is a synonym for Phyllanthus amarus but these seems to be related to different species.
