What Should Be the Dose/Administration of Eyebright?

ORAL • Generally dried and aerial parts of eyebright are used thrice a day in a dosage of 2 to 4 grams or in the form of tea in the same dosage. Such tea is prepared by steeping 2-4 grams of dried aerial parts in 150 mL hot boiling water for continuously up to ten minutes and straining it afterwards. • Liquid extract of Euphrasia officinalis is utilized thrice every day in a ratio of 1:1 in a combination with 25% concentrated alcohol. • As a tincture with ratio of 1:5 in 45% concentrated alcohol, it is taken in a dose of 2 to 6 mL thrice every day. TOPICAL There is no topical dosage of eyebright.

Comments

Because of high infection risks, nonsterile solution with combination of homemade products should be avoided. Ophthalmic utilization of eyebright is not advised. Eyebright has been utilized in the British Herbal Tobacco, which was smoked for colds and chronic bronchial conditions.
